A piece of good news from Beijing is that the Beijing Olympic Sports Center will be open freely to visitors on June 6th, 7th and 8th. On those days, visitors will be able to experience personally the venues for the different sports events to be held in the various stadiums, which inclued the “Bird’s Nest” and the “Water Cube”. The opening hours will be from 09:00 to 17:00.
The stadiums have fields for ground events, swimming halls, a comprehensive sports hall, hochey grounds, tennis court and softball fields. During the Beijing Olympics, various events including the Modern Pentathlon, water polo, handball and martial arts are to take place in the sports center. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) ruquires that all Olympic venues be closed during the 60 days running up to the opening of the Olympic Games. Therefore, this is the only opportunity to enter the Olympic stadiums prior to the start of the Olympiad.
