Zhang Ji, a poet of Tang Dynasty wrote a poem "A Night-Mooring Near Maple Bridge":

"While I watch the moon go down, a crow caws through the frost;
Under the shadows of maple-trees a fisherman moves with his torch;
And I hear, from beyond Suzhou, from the temple on Cold Mountain,
Ringing for me, here in my boat, the midnight bell."

The poem became famous because of the temple, and the reputation of the temple spread throughout the China because of this poem. Standing at the head of the Fengqiao Bridge, you will see an old temple with blue tiles and yellow wall in the green woods, that is the Hanshan Temple.
